Could the condom have leaked?

my boyfriend and i were having and we, like always, used a condom. when we were finished, the bottom exterior of the condom looked like it had fluid all over it. the condom was lubricated so that might have been what we saw and there were no visible tears or leaks. is it possible that the semen could have made its way from the top to the base and get out?
