Is he blowing me off & didn't have the guts to be direct? Or did I misunderstand?

It seems like he isn't taking things as seriously as you are. If he makes you believe you are not worth a hour�s drive in the rain, then exactly what are you worth to him? I would advise you not to get too close to this guy. Find someone who knows he wants to be with you and is direct when it comes to his feelings. You deserve it.
